Installation
Galileo is available for macOS, Linux, and Windows. Everyone downloads it from https://api.hashiro.ai/api/.
Check the release
curl -fSL https://api.hashiro.ai/api/galileo/latestThe JSON response contains version and a downloads map. Architecture keys use underscores; the download is a ZIP archive, not a raw executable. Use the architectures published by the current release.
| System | Download key | Executable inside ZIP |
|---|---|---|
| macOS Apple Silicon | darwin_arm64 | galileo-darwin-arm64 |
| macOS Intel | darwin_amd64 | galileo-darwin-amd64 |
| Linux x86-64 | linux_amd64 | galileo-linux-amd64 |
| Linux ARM64 | linux_arm64 | galileo-linux-arm64 |
| Windows x86-64 | windows_amd64 | galileo-windows-amd64.exe |
macOS
Run uname -m: arm64 means Apple Silicon, while x86_64 means Intel.
For Apple Silicon:
curl -fSL https://api.hashiro.ai/api/galileo/download/darwin_arm64 -o galileo.zip
unzip -o galileo.zip -d galileo-download
mkdir -p "$HOME/.local/bin"
install -m 755 galileo-download/galileo-darwin-arm64 "$HOME/.local/bin/galileo"
export PATH="$HOME/.local/bin:$PATH"For Intel, use darwin_amd64 in the URL and install galileo-darwin-amd64 from the extracted archive. Confirm the archive contents with unzip -l galileo.zip if a release uses a different filename.
Add export PATH="$HOME/.local/bin:$PATH" to ~/.zshrc to keep the PATH setting in new terminals.
Linux
You need curl and unzip. Run uname -m: use linux_amd64 for x86_64 or linux_arm64 for aarch64 / arm64.
For x86-64:
curl -fSL https://api.hashiro.ai/api/galileo/download/linux_amd64 -o galileo.zip
unzip -o galileo.zip -d galileo-download
mkdir -p "$HOME/.local/bin"
install -m 755 galileo-download/galileo-linux-amd64 "$HOME/.local/bin/galileo"
export PATH="$HOME/.local/bin:$PATH"For ARM64, replace the download key with linux_arm64 and the executable name with galileo-linux-arm64. Add the PATH export to your shell configuration, such as ~/.bashrc or ~/.zshrc.
Windows
Open PowerShell. The published Windows build is x86-64. Use the release metadata to confirm available architectures.
Invoke-RestMethod https://api.hashiro.ai/api/galileo/latest
Invoke-WebRequest https://api.hashiro.ai/api/galileo/download/windows_amd64 -OutFile galileo.zip
Expand-Archive -Path galileo.zip -DestinationPath galileo-download -Force
$galileoBin = Join-Path $env:LOCALAPPDATA "Hashiro\bin"
New-Item -ItemType Directory -Force $galileoBin
Copy-Item .\galileo-download\galileo-windows-amd64.exe (Join-Path $galileoBin "galileo.exe")
$env:Path = "$galileoBin;$env:Path"To keep the PATH setting, open Edit environment variables for your account, edit the user Path, and add the Hashiro\bin directory created under LocalAppData. Open a new terminal after saving.
Install script for macOS and Linux
You can also download and run the production install script:
curl -fSL https://api.hashiro.ai/api/install -o install-galileo.sh
bash install-galileo.shThe script detects the platform, downloads and extracts the ZIP, and installs the executable. Windows uses the PowerShell instructions above.
Configure and verify
Create the configuration file before running Galileo. Then:
galileo version
galileo projects listUse galileo version, not galileo --version. If the command is not found, check PATH. If permission is denied on macOS or Linux, check executable permissions. A 404 download means the architecture is not available in the current release; consult the metadata.
Updating
galileo updateAutomatic updates are enabled by default. Disable them with no_update = true or --no-update; explicit update still works. The install script can also install the latest release again.
